Pernod Ricard has implemented a policy of business development through external growth. In 1975, the Group had only 2 subsidiaries, in Switzerland and in Spain. The principle of regionalisation came into being in 1996 with the creation of Pernod Ricard Europe, Pernod Ricard Asia and Pernod Ricard Americas. With the takeovers of Seagram and Allied Domecq, the Group strengthened its position in the Americas and Asia. The acquisition of V&S group in 2008 enables Pernod Ricard to become n°2 in the US and consolidates its presence in Northen Europe.
